
Plan Chattanooga established a framework for CARTA’s long-term transit vision, which includes multimodal connections, transportation hubs, high-demand corridors, frequent networks, and new routes and services. Transitioning from the current network to this future vision requires incremental yet intentional steps. One key step is the creation of a Transit Improvement Program (TIP), a comprehensive initiative of projects aimed at enhancing CARTA, encompassing functional plans and policies, short-term service improvements, and long-term strategic upgrades.
