Downtown & North Shore Shuttle Weekend Service

Beginning on Labor Day weekend, the Downtown Shuttle will operate from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The North Shore Shuttle will operate from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturdays.

Hamilton Countyhref="../pdf/s Mask or Facial Covering Mandate

Per Directive No. 1 of the Hamilton County Health Officer, effective on Friday, July 10th, masks or facial coverings will be required of all persons in Hamilton County at all times when indoors of all public and private buildings and when outdoors with certain exceptions. CARTA strongly encourages the wearing of facial coverings when using our services. Masks are available on our buses.

COVID-19 Service Reductions and Information

CARTAhref="../pdf/s fixed route bus service continues to operate on Saturday schedules with the last trip from downtown at 9:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and are operating on regular Sunday schedules. Routes #14 Mocs Express and #28 Amnicola Highway are also operating Monday through Friday. In an effort to maintain proper social distancing, all passengers will board the buses at the rear door with a maximum capacity of 10 passengers per bus. Additional buses are staged to assist with capacity overflow. Bus fares are waived. The Downtown Shuttle operates from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. and the North Shore Shuttle operates from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

For everyonehref="../pdf/s protection, CARTA operators are required to wear facial coverings when near customers, and their temperatures are checked at the beginning of their shifts. Our vehicles are cleaned and disinfected daily. CARTA adheres to the guidelines and recommendations that are set forth by the CDC and the Hamilton County Health Department. Temporary operating hours at the Chattanooga Parking Authority

Beginning on Monday, March 30th, the Chattanooga Parking Authority located next to the Choo Choo will be open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and closed on Saturday. For more information, please call (423) 648-4031.

CARTA Redesign: Planning for the Future

CARTA wants to serve you better and is looking at our entire system to best meet your needs. The CARTA Redesign study is a year-long planning study led by CARTA in partnership with the City of Chattanooga, the Regional Planning Agency, and many community partners to analyze the current CARTA fixed route bus service and recommend changes to the system.
