Incline Mountain Railway Assistant Director
Department: Incline
Reports To: Incline Director
Location: Incline Mountain Railway
Rate of Pay: $65,000 – $100,000
SUMMARY
The Incline Railway Assistant Director is responsible for assisting with all the Incline Rail oversight, delegation and decision making. Also, he/she must maintain an operation that is customer oriented with a high level of professionalism.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned that are in keeping with the goals and objectives of CARTA.
- Assists the Incline Director in planning and developing goals, objectives, and marketing strategies for the Incline Mountain Railway.
- Assists in formulating budgets, monitors expenditures and experiment replacement to remain within budget levels.
- Aids in the management of operating costs.
- Aids in the interview and selection of new hires.
- Assists in the development and implementation of new and ongoing staff training, which includes new hire orientation, safety, and security training.
- Ensures good working relations with community agencies and local shop unions.
- Assists in requisitions of parts and equipment.
- Inspects and performs preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Provides Incline Director with information for the car and safe operation of equipment.
- Reports on general problems and progress of system.
- Accepts overall responsibility for upkeep of buildings and grounds.
- Maintains area for both visitors and personnel to ensure freedom from hazards and accidents.
- Enforces all CARTA policies and procedures in a positive and professional manner, including full completion of all required documentation.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required.
- Must be able to read Blueprints and Schematics.
- Must have knowledge of track and trestle repair and structures.
- Must have knowledge of residential and commercial electricity.
- Rigging experience is a plus.
- CDL Class A or B with air brake and passenger endorsement
