CARTA continues reduced service due to COVID-19
CARTA will continue to operate on Saturday schedules Monday through Saturday with the last trip from downtown at 9:30 p.m., and on regular Sunday schedules until next year due to the increased cases of COVID-19 in our community. Route #28 Amnicola Highway is also in service Monday through Friday. Rear door boarding will still be provided and fares will be waived during this time. Passenger capacity is also reduced for everyone safety and additional buses will be staged to assist with the overflow.
Effective on Sunday, November 22nd, the Downtown Shuttle will operate from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The North Shore Shuttle will operate from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Also effective on November 22nd, facial coverings are required on all CARTA buses. Masks will be available on the buses.
Hamilton County Mask or Facial Covering Mandate
Per Directive No. 1 of the Hamilton County Health Officer, effective on Friday, July 10th, masks or facial coverings will be required of all persons in Hamilton County at all times when indoors of all public and private buildings and when outdoors with certain exceptions. Please visit the Hamilton County Health Department website for the facial covering exceptions and more information. Effective on November 22nd, facial coverings are required on all CARTA buses.
Temporary operating hours at the Chattanooga Parking Authority
Beginning on Monday, March 30th, the Chattanooga Parking Authority located next to the Choo Choo will be open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and closed on Saturday. For more information, please call (423) 648-4031.
